Heiner Meyer

Pop Art Artist // Atelier Heiner Meyer

Heiner Meyer, born in 1953 in Bielefeld, was an assistant to Salvador Dali in the early 1970s. From 1977 to 1982, he studied fine arts at HBK Braunschweig under Prof. Malte Sartorius and Prof. Karl Schulz, completing his studies as a graduate student. In the following years, he received numerous art awards and scholarships. His works have been exhibited in over 350 exhibitions worldwide. His body of work, which was created over the past decades, presents us with the temptations of the consumer world and the strategies of the advertising industry.
Heiner Meyer is a chronicler of postmodern everyday life and Western consumer societies, their desires such as illusions. For almost forty years, Heiner Meyer has provided insights into the psyche of western society and its consumer behavior. Comic characters, cars, luxury items, brand names, advertising slogans, and consumer goods - often surrounded by glamorous Hollywood stars and styled models - form the basis of his works. In this way, Heiner Meyer follows in the tradition of great pop art artists such as Mel Ramos, Erró, Wayne Thiebaud, or Andy Warhol. Executed in his clear and realistic painting style, he transports us to a different world. One that often seems „more beautiful than real.“
In recent years, Heiner Meyer has evolved into one of the most important pop art artists worldwide. His works are now displayed in galleries and museums all over the world and have been acquired by many significant public and institutional collections. Numerous exhibitions from Hamburg to Miami testify to Meyer’s international success.
