Biodiversity as a turning point for our planet

Agriculture is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions in our world. Conventional agriculture worldwide has led to a loss of soil health, changes in landscapes and therefore a loss of diversity of flora and fauna. Returning to a more natural way of growing crops can be a gamechanger for the future of our planet by restoring this diversity within and between species and increasing the resilience of ecosystems - providing a broad and critical range of ecosystem services on which humans and nature depend. With two dedicated global and local experts, we will explore the global perspective on the importance of biodiversity for the future of our planet and how corporate change can help restore landscapes. Martin Gerzabek, Professor of Ecotoxicology and Isotope Application BOKU, and Viviane Ruiz-Gutierrez, Assistant Director Cornell Lab of Ornithology, will talk about this at 4GAMECHANGERS 2024.
