The search for happiness: dealing with stress and mental health in a fast-paced world

Our social system turns us into rushed people. It is "chic" to have a lot of stress, to be under constant pressure and to have to put off important personal matters. People suffer from the system. Stress doesn't just occur in our everyday working lives, but has also found its way into our social and private lives. In addition to the well-known burn-out, something new is now appearing on the scene: burn-on syndrome - chronic overload. This idea of performance seems to be immanent in our capitalist system, because stress also seems to make people important and more socially desirable. But this constant overload, as a danger to physical and mental health, must be taken seriously. So we ask ourselves: how can we escape these and other negative phenomena? How can we manage the balancing act between a fulfilling private life and motivated work without being permanently overworked? What can be demanded and required of employers and employees in the future in order to achieve a mentally balanced life? PULS 24 anchorwoman Sabine Loho discusses this with Daniela Benz (Head of Health Management at Siemens Austria), Herwig Ostermann (Managing Director of Health Austria), Mira Lobnig (PR Manager and Campaign Management Team), Beate Wimmer-Puchinger (Psychologist at Strategic Health Consulting) and Hélène Menapace (Osteopath & Founder of WeLovePinkPlanet).
