The focus of current companies is primarily on digitalization, optimized processes and a future secured through innovation. However, one important factor is often forgotten in this change: Managers who perceive, understand and support the needs and new ways of working of the next generation of workers, i.e. the Next Gen. For the next generation, it seems important to prioritize flexible, sustainable ways of working that promote personal development. They have grown up with digitalization and use it in both their private and professional lives. Issues such as social responsibility, diversity and equality are not just a concept to them, but are of key importance. Instead of a balanced relationship between work and private life, the next generation is prioritizing self-development. Views, wishes and individual needs have clearly changed. The following questions therefore arise: how do generations get to know each other better and also learn from each other? Who needs to optimize their way of thinking in the future in order to keep up with the changing times? Why can a labor market not survive if there is no new understanding, and why are adapted goals and wishes not seen as an opportunity for employers and employees, but rather as a negative change or challenge? PULS 24 presenter Manuela Raidl discusses this with Martin Kocher (Minister of Economics and Labor), Tamas Trunk (Influencer & Author), Sara Weber (Journalist, Author, Digital Strategist), Georg Wallner (Business Unit Manager Austrian Post), Nathalie Rau (CTIO Magenta Telekom), Nikolai Dürhammer (Managing Director Stepstone) and Sher Khan (Industry Lead Google Austria).
