Johannes Rauch began his political career at the Austrian Green Party almost 40 years ago.
Starting in his local town council, he led the Green Party's parliamentary group in the Provincial Parliament of Vorarlberg as Chairperson for over ten years. Before becoming Federal Minister, he was Councillor for the Environment and Mobility in the Provincial Government. Since 8 March 2022, he has served as Federal Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care, and Consumer Protection.
As a former social worker, Johannes relates closely to people's struggles in daily life and prioritizes social justice, affordable housing, and accessible health care in every political decision.
