Author & Nature Photographer
Conrad Amber, born 55, lives and works in Dornbirn, Austria. The former entrepreneur, who founded and built art businesses for over 40 years, has been deeply connected to the forest since childhood. He turned his hobby, nature photography, into his profession 20 years ago, researching the way of life of ancient trees and the secrets of near-natural forests in Europe. This has resulted in specialist books such as the bestseller "Baumwelten", the reference book "Bäume auf die Dächer, Wälder in die Stadt" and the adventure book "Was uns Bäume erzählen". He is co-author and photographer on numerous other books, and writes for trade journals and studies. Amber is a speaker and consultant and travels extensively in German-speaking countries. He passes on his knowledge of urban trees, green roofs, green facades and unsealing, the creation of nature and forest gardens, to consultations, planning and realized projects. His concern: give the trees back their dignity.
