"Benedikt Mitmannsgruber, winner of the "Stuttgarter Besen", has perfected the type of borderline-debile loser with depressive parts." (Stuttgarter Zeitung, 23.09.21) "A talent from whom one will hear a lot more." (Radio Ö1, ORF) "Benedikt Mitmannsgruber, Amen! If this is the savior of a new Austrian cabaret generation, all prayers have been answered." (Editorial Board, ORF III) "Very special humor, calmly performed - a great enrichment of the satirical landscape." (Alfred Dorfer, cabaret artist, OÖN)
Benedikt Mitmannsgruber saw the light of day in 1996. He was not born in a pigsty, as is usual in the northern Mühlviertel, but in a real hospital, with real doctors. Mitmannsgruber is very proud of this to this day. In his childhood and adolescence he was lonely because he was the only child in his hometown. At least the only child who was not already addicted to alcohol and nicotine at the age of 11. His support was the Catholic Church, his obsession Jesus, his muse the village priest. Or vice versa. Mitmannsgruber gained his first stage experience at the tender age of 18 when, in the role of the dogmatic, charismatic class speaker, he gave the graduation speech at the HAK Freistadt graduation ceremony. The audience laughed loudly and applauded for a long time, which brought a smile (his first) to Mitmannsgruber's face. After that, it took more than two years for the pale Johanna Mikl-Leitner lookalike to summon up all his courage and dare to take the step onto the stage again. He reaped his first notable successes in 2018, when he reached the prestigious finals of the notorious Graz Kleinkunstvogel. In 2019, Mitmannsgruber won the audience award at the Freistädter Frischling in March. After his victory, he smiled for the second time in his life. In April of the same year, the likeable moustache-wearer from the far north won the Golden Egg of the KultO in Ostermiething. This time, a tear of joy even flowed down the 22-year-old's cheek. In 2021, "the lanky loser guy" won the golden Stuttgart broom, with raven-black and very Austrian humor.
