Agronomist // Fundación Local Partners
Ana María graduated as agricultural engineer from the Colombian Polytechnic Jaime Isaza Cadavid. She started working with Nespresso as agronomist in 2017 in the municipality of Jardín Antioquia. It has been 6 years where she has learned much and faced countless challenges. She grew up in the city, but always felt she belonged in the countryside. Her grandfather had a coffee farm in Fredonia Antioquia, where Ana María spent much of her childhood. Her mother always taught her the importance of being independent and tenacious to achieve everything she set her mind to in life. Ana Maria knew that her work was socially seen as for men. However, she was firm in her decision because it is what she is passionate about. That is why she admires and respects the hundreds of brave women who, in a sector dominated by men, decide to become coffee growers and agronomists to evolve the Colombian countryside more and more every day.
