Securing the future: The critical role of enhanced security in AI

AI is rapidly changing our world and driving innovation in all industries. The potential of AI, especially generative AI, is enormous. However, as AI evolves, so do the cyber threats that target these systems. Cyberattacks cost the global economy an estimated 8 trillion dollars in 2023 - a sum that is expected to rise to 10.5 trillion dollars by 2025 (Cybersecurity Ventures). To build a more secure and resilient digital future, a mindset that prioritizes security is crucial. Both policy makers and practitioners need to explore solutions to protect AI systems from threats and novel strategies to use generative AI to outsmart emerging threats. The panel will take an in-depth look at why AI can contribute disproportionately to cybersecurity threat defense and what strategies help maximize AI security, which is essential for the responsible advancement of AI. This will be discussed by Susanne Mortimore, CEO LexisNexis Austria, Ott Velsberg, Chief Data Officer Estonian Government, Lucy Georgieva, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy Google, and Thomas Plank, CEO Tributech & Certified Risk Manager.
