1958, studied business administration and art history, TV traineeship at SWF. Author, director and presenter of TV films, specializing in cultural reports and artist portraits. Since 1987 numerous magazine articles, moderations and art market discussions. As an exhibition organizer and curator, he has been responsible for numerous art and cultural projects since 1986. He is Chairman of the Foundation for Art and Culture Bonn, Director of the MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art in Duisburg and was Artistic Director of the Salzburg Foundation. Honorary Professor of Culture and Economics at the University of Witten/Herdecke since 2010. Official advisor to the National Museum of China, Beijing. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of Yad Vashem since 2017. Awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2020.
