Magdalena, as she was baptized, Hoschek was born on April 23, 1981, the daughter of Ernestine Hoschek, a university lecturer, and Christian Hoschek, a self-employed sales representative. After her AHS education, Lena Hoschek attended the Vienna Hetzendorf Fashion School, where she graduated with a diploma in 2003. This was finally followed by a one-year internship at Vivienne Westwood in London and only a short time later, in November 2005, in a small studio in the middle of the old town of Graz, the founding of her label "Lena Hoschek". In 2009, she opened a new store in Graz, which was expanded in 2018 and still exists today. Already in 2008, the opening of her store in the 7th district in Vienna, which was replaced by the flagship store in the 1st district in 2016. Five years later, in 2021 the flagship store moves to larger premises, also in the 1st district. The label has also been represented in western Austria for some time - a store opened in Kitzbühel in 2020. In 2009, the designer, who is consistently known and appreciated in Austria, also ventured to Germany and showed her designs in the course of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin until 2020. Since June 2011, Lena Hoschek's designs have been available internationally in the online store www.lenahoschek.com. As a result of rapid expansion and company growth, Lena Hoschek moved her headquarters to Vienna in 2012, where she set up her studio in an old knitwear factory. The spacious premises eventually also allow the designer to expand her custom-made couture and bridal fashion, for which she is also able to win over fellow designer Thomas Kirchgrabner as head of the couture atelier in 2013. From the beginning, Lena Hoschek has always remained true to herself and has always symbolized with her name the nostalgic return to traditional craftsmanship, classic cuts and the feminine hourglass silhouette - without appearing conventional. A self-proclaimed "fabric truffle pig," she is constantly on the lookout for precious and storied fabrics - a penchant that has accompanied her since childhood. Pattern opulence, exquisite materials and attention to detail characterize her collections while embodying her ethos of valuing each garment as something timeless and long-lasting. Pieces are produced with the utmost care in small factories in Europe. Among the brand's many fans have been international stars such as Dita Von Teese, Sarah Jessica Parker, Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey and many more.
