Christian Schmachtenberg

Christian Schmachtenberg began his career by rethinking spatial experiences. His work at Totems (Amsterdam/Stuttgart), Jung von Matt (Cologne), MDLab/cheil (Munich/Seoul), pico (Singapore) or MetaDesign (Berlin) were trend-setting. Today, as Germany's first professor of Experience Design in the Virtual Design program at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, he conducts research in the fields of experimental museology and speculative design. In his past research semester, he staged a sound sculpture at Burning Man to derive new ideas for a happier society.
