Beate Wimmer-Puchinger, Univ.-Prof., Ph.D. Clinical and health psychologist, long-time scientific director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Women's Health Research as well as the founder and director of the two women's health centers of Vienna. She also was nominated by the City parliament as Women’s Health Commissioner of the City of Vienna (1999 - 2015) further she was the scientific director of the "Vienna Health Targets 2025" and program coordinator of the Austrian Action Plan for Women's Health . In her academic career she was Professor for Psychology at the University of Salzburg, Guest Professor for Public Health at the Medical University of Vienna as well as for women’s health at University of Applied Health Sciences Vienna, Alice Salomon University of Berlin, Karl Landsteiner Private University for Health Sciences. She is editor of relevant textbooks, most recently "Irrsinnig weiblich – Psychische Krisen im Frauenleben“ [Insanely feminine – psychological crisis throughout women’s lifespan](Springer 2016), author of numerous book and scientific articles. She has received awards such as the Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the County of Vienna, the Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria, ZONTA Merit Award and the Women's Prize of the City of Vienna 2016. Since June 2017 she is President of the Professional Association of Austrian Psychologists.(BÖP) Further she is represented in numerous scientific boards such as of the Austrian Society of Psychosomatic in Gynecology and Obstetrics (ÖGPGG), the Austrian Society of Gender specific Medicine,( ÖGGSM) the Austrian Society of sexual medicine and sexual Health.
