Benefit concert & solidarity rally with 100.000 people at Heldenplatz in Vienna
After "We Stand With Ukraine" (benefit concert at Ernst Happel Stadium), the next big benefit concert & solidarity rally 💙💛 under the motto #YesWeCare took place yesterday, Sunday, March 27, at Heldenplatz in Vienna.
100,000 visitors came together at Vienna's Heldenplatz for showing our great solidarity for the ukraine "They should all hear this: War is so fucking old fashioned, baby," said Marco Wanda, who performed the atmospheric finale with his band until 11:00 pm. In addition to Wanda, the audience was offered a colorful potpourri of the Austrian music scene. Tim Neuwirth aka Conchita Wurst represented Kurt Ostbahn, who continues to be ill with Corona, Ina Regen introduced the evening with her special dialect ballads, while the cabaret duo Maschek livened up the afternoon with their word arts. Also performing were Bundspecht, Cari Cari, pianist Dragan Denys, Edmund, Filiah, Folkshilfe, Freude, Garish, Kerosin, Lemo, Lou Asril, Oska, Sharktank, Strandhase and Verified.
The extra-musical highlight was a four-minute video clip in which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj addressed the participants of the concert late Sunday afternoon. "We continue to fight," because "peace is the only choice!" Selenskyj addressed the audience.
The PULS 4 moderator duo Corinna Milborn and Mario Hochgerner led through the rally, Gundula Geiginger interviewed the stars backstage and in front of the stage, in the PULS 24 studio Alexandra Wachter and Patrick Fux - together with Ina Regen - entertained the TV audience.
The donation amount of #YesWeCare is yet to be announced, the entire sum will benefit the organizations "SOS-Kinderdorf" and "Nachbar in Not".
