Experiences of poverty in early childhood

Volkshilfe Symposium 2023

Every 5th child in Austria is affected by poverty and exclusion

Experiences of poverty in early childhood have significant implications for one's later life. A child's development, especially up to the age of three, plays a pivotal role in shaping their future.

Poverty research observes both early developmental delays and increased health risks, as well as long-term disadvantaged opportunities for development in all areas of life.

This year's symposium on child poverty focuses on the theme of 'Experiences of poverty in early childhood.' Thematically, we will follow children from pregnancy through their first three years of life to kindergarten.

That's Just Unfair! Experiences of Poverty in Early Childhood.
