The Makemakes

Austrian musician

OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder considered The Makemakes as “the best and highest potential voice” he has ever toured with. Today at age twenty-seven, front man, Dodo Muhrer already looks back at a long and diversified career. It took him all the way from winning multiple national music awards as a kid, to leading chart positions in his home country, to producing an official and internationally highly acclaimed Sound Of Music song cover, that initially inspired Ariana Grande to melt “My favorite things” into her current global hit single “Seven Rings”, to starring in a Netflix documentary with Quincy Jones’ co-producer, the 14-time Grammy award winner Humberto Gatica, to representing Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, to opening shows across Europe for superstars like OneRepublic or Bon Jovi. But all of that does not stop him from pushing himself further and at the time Dodo is stirring up Germany’s Top 50 single charts with his mind-blowing The Makemakes reproduction of DJ BoBo’s unforgettable nineties Eurodance smash hit “Freedom”.
