Kari Eik is the Secretary General, of the Organization for International Economic Relations – OiER www.oier.pro, Co-Chair of the UNECE Real Estate Market Advisory Group (REM) and coordinator of the Geneva UN Charter Centre of Excellence for Smart and Sustainable Cities. The Center supports the work of the UNECE Committee on Housing and Land Management to strengthen cooperation and networks among governments, cities and businesses, enhance investment, and support financing and implementation of urban projects in the frame of the Sustainable Development Goals.
She is the Co-Founder and Coordinator for OiER of the United Smart Cities Program www.unitedsmartcities.org, a multi-stakeholder platform set up jointly with UNECE, supporting cities worldwide to address major urban issues and investments for sustainable urban development. She is member Co-Chair United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC), (a global UN initiative) and responsible to develop the deliverable “Guidelines on tools and mechanisms to finance smart sustainable cities”.
She is a Board member of the newly launched World Council for SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities set up by the World Government Summit.
