Thiago Chang

Strategic Initiatives Manager // TechnoServe

Thiago Chang is a Strategic Initiatives manager at TechnoServe, a global nonprofit that specializes in business solutions to poverty. He works with leading multinational corporations in the agribusiness, food, and consumer sectors to develop and implement innovative business models to create and capture shared value in emerging markets. Thiago previously worked for Bain & Company in São Paulo, Brazil, helping clients in South America with strategy, performance improvement, cost reduction and optimization, organizational redesign, and M&A, in sectors ranging from financial services and education to transportation and mining. Prior to that, he worked in Ethiopia as a case team leader at the Ethiopian’s government’s Agricultural Transformation Agency, where he managed strategy and implementation of projects for the Ministry of Agriculture to improve the livelihood of Ethiopian smallholder farmers. He has also worked in Laos, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Peru, and Germany. Thiago has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil and a Master’s Degree in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
