Founder and CEO // Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation
As a 9-year-old, Felix Finkbeiner (23) sketched out his vision during a school presentation: Let's plant a million trees in every country on earth. His vision has grown - today, the more than 91,000 children and young people who have joined Felix's idea as climate justice ambassadors are calling for 1,000 billion trees to be planted by 2030. A specially developed app helps them finance trees through donations. In 2018, Felix received the Federal Cross of Merit for his commitment. He is currently doing his PhD at ETH Zurich and is investigating the potential of global reforestation.
Plant-for-the-Planet is a global children's and youth initiative with more than 91,000 members in 75 countries. Together with people from all over the world, these children want to plant 1,000 billion trees to reduce CO2 emissions and thereby mitigate the climate crisis. As ambassadors for climate justice, these children and young people give talks to adults, encourage them to take action and fight for their future.
